"Hey I'm Kissy ;-)

I'm a designer from Essex who went to Central Saint Martins art college in London but I'm a more of a music producer and electro DJ these days.

I'm always touring around various places DJing and sometimes playing with my live band while dodging glow sticks at night clubs - so if you see my name on a poster come and say hello!

I've also done a bootleg ep with all proceeds going to British Association of Adoption and Fostering called "Get Busy Tropicana" which you can get on Beatport and in Urban Outfitters stores around the UK. [...]"

iKlax Media Launches iKlax API, The First API For Interactive And Multitrack Music For Mobile Phone, PC And Mac

For the 2010 GSMA Trade Show of Barcelona, iKlax Media launches the very first API for developers to integrate the iKlax multitrack and interactive music compatibility in their Smartphone apps and PC/Mac software.

The API contains encoding functions:
  • addition of separated stems in one file
  • adjustment of single stem mixing parameters
  • management of a complex stem structure (hierarchy, different versions of the same instrument, stem groups, etc…)
  • definition of mix presets
  • definition and control of mixing rules
  • export functions

By using the encoding functions, developers will be able to develop custom plug-ins or VST for music creation software.

The iKlax API also contains the following decoding functions:
  • multitrack playback (sync, mix, etc…)
  • presets playback and new presets creation
  • multitrack mix control (volumes, track selection)

The decoding functions open the doors to develop plug-ins, codec, DirectShow filter, etc… for digital music players. Multitrack music listening becomes as easy as playing an MP3.

Moreover, the API integrates a patented mixing rules analyser (rules checking and solver) to control the user interactive listening experience.

Used in a mobile app, the API allows playing up to 10 stem tracks simultaneously and used in PC/Mac software, up to 100 stem tracks.

The custom licence of this API lets developers use this API for free if their app or software is free. For commercial use, a licence fee may be applicable.

iPhone and Smartphone apps are key tools for modern brand’s marketing and fan-base/ growth and building.
By offering very compelling features, those devices open new areas for marketers and fan’s brand awareness.

A highly skilled team

Apps&Co is the iKlax Media’s department specialised in Smartphone app creation.
The team is composed of multimedia engineers, highly skilled in Smartphone app’s design and development.
In a market where lots of iPhone apps are made by “amateurs”, Apps&Co offers a strong expertise in computer science to ensure stability and efficiency with cutting-edge state of the art features.

iPhone apps vs website

The web opened great tools for brands to communicate, promote and sell.
However, mobile navigating in a website is not easy due to the small screens and the fact that most websites are not tuned for mobile phone compatibility.
An Apps&Co app takes all of your compelling content and makes it available for readers with an adapted and ergonomical layout, section by section. It also uses Smartphone exclusive features like “geo-localisation” and/or “accelerometer” functions so popular today.
An iPhone app is a complement to a website which adapts to the mobility and new mobile phone experience to promote your brand or sell items in the best and most efficient way.

A battle is being set up between the four majors (Sony, Universal, Warner, EMI) and Apple as the goal behind their two new audio formats is the same: re-launching digital music sales by offering consumers real added value.

On top of the 10 titles or so usually included in an album, the user would access attractive supplementary content (illustrations, lyrics, videos, mobile applications…).

The rise of this new business model opens many integration opportunities for iKlax. To be continued…

Just 6 months ago, iKlax Media entered the Apple's App Store with the first multitrack music listening App.

In order to optimize its technology, iKlax Media will switch in a few weeks to a single application (and no longer one per song) that will enable the user to access all his iKlax files and those available in the catalogue from his smartphone (iPhone, Windows Mobile and Symbian OS) or computer (PC or Mac).
The user will also be able to listen to his purchased multitrack music on all iKlax compatible audio media players of his choice.

The Beta version will be launched 1st October 2009.

Everyone at iKlax is thinking of Les Paul this morning.

I've chosen to copy Rolling Stone article as it quotes a few great guitarists. The original article can be found at: www.rollingstone.com/

Les Paul Remembered: Guitar Greats on Their True

As word spread of the death of guitar pioneer Les Paul today, many of those he influenced jumped online (and called up Rolling Stone) to share their tributes to the father of the electric six-string. The next issue will have more tributes, but here’s a survey of artists’ immediate reactions to the loss of one of the instruments’ true heroes:

Look back at Paul’s life in photos: Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen and more stars with the father of the electric guitar.

“My friend & mentor Les Paul died today at 94, he was one of the most stellar human beings I’ve ever known, rest in peace Les.” — Slash

“Remembering Les Paul today. Just happened to have his namesake Gibson around my shoulder the last few days. Pictures of Les Paul all over the studio today. Very special day in here. You should wiki his life. Pretty amazing.” — John Mayer

“RIP Les Paul-thankyou for the instruments that changed the course of music. If u have ever “rocked” or “been rocked” u can thank Les Paul.” — Tom Morello

“The World Has Lost a Remarkable Innovator and Musician.” — the Donnas

“The music industry has lost a giant! I’m very saddened by the news of Les Paul’s passing. I was lucky enough to have known Les as a friend, and admired him as a musician and innovator. He forever changed the way we listen to music.” — Ace Frehley

“Les Paul set a standard for musicianship and innovation that remains unsurpassed. He was the original guitar hero, and the kindest of souls. Last October I joined him onstage at The Iridium club in NYC, and he was still shredding. He was and still is an inspiration to us all.” — Joe Satriani

“There are very few human beings in history who touched so many people the way Les Paul did. Not only musicians. But anyone that loved music. He shared his gifts with all of us and brought people together with his brilliance and devotion to music and the art of sound. It was a privilege to have met him. He will be incredibly missed. But our blessing is to know that his spirit and soul will live for eternity in music everywhere.” — The Hold Steady’s Tad Kubler, who shared this photo with us as well:

Cerrone was one of the emblematic artists at the rise of the disco era and is today recognised as one of the most visionnary electro scene precursors.

Just a few weeks ago, in the midst of the debates about music piracy, he decided to offer his faithful fans his latest album as a fully free download, right on his official site.

And now, he's taken another step towards his fans with "Je Suis Music" in multitrack audio format... a completely new way to listen to music.

Mark Cerrone became seduced by the creative spectrum the iKlax technology has to offer and comments "iKlax offers access to the secrets of a hit, beyond the usual mp3, allowing to enter the core of creation. A great and novel priviledge I believe".

So, here's what's in store for you, if you'd like to get hands (fingers) on with the "Remix Cerrone - Je Suis Music" club hit multitrack application for your iPhone and iPod Touch - now available in Apple's App Store.
