Sad day.
Michael Jackson, one of the biggest Pop Star ever, died yesterday.
This guy was just a genius: strong voice, clear and pure, always inspired in his interpretations and with a unique sense of the beat. American people call that "the Soul".
As a drummer, musician and composer I feel that his music, his beats and rhythms are always somewhere while we create.
We have been very influenced by his songs, his dancing and choreography.
Who never tried to Moonwalk or the final step with one hand between the legs and the other trying to reach the stars?
And his fabulous "Hoo"? Everybody said it once at least.
I watched the news this morning on TV and had a chance to hear again those marvelous songs: Thriller, Beat it, Bad...
Hey guys! This singer rocked, really!
I am not a "pure" fan, I don't have any of his album at home, but I sincerely measure his impact on music History and industry.
Even when I hear some of the new songs coming from the young generation, I can feel inspirations from Michael Jackson.
Like some of the best artists of the 20th Century like Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison or John Lennon, he sent us "in others dimensions".
Like touched by "God's Finger".
And we had the chance, I really believe it, to live at the same period.
Of course, success, power, money and pressure were too wide for just a single human being.
That’s the cynical part of life: the higher you go, the lower you fall.
I sincerely believe that no one of us could be prepared to this kind of experience.
I don't justify anything, I didn't know him personally neither the "real" stories.
But I am sure that History will remember his impact on Music and that we will keep something of his magic in our feeling while dancing or singing.
